UI/UX Designer

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and the rest of the product development team to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and milestones for software projects.
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
  • Design all visual elements and interactions based on high-level requirements.
  • Create design artifacts (e.g. wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows) as needed to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Stay up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
  • Provide coarse-grained estimates for the delivery of design artifacts based on requirements and acceptance criteria. Proactively communicate to management and other stakeholders if and when estimates are shown to be inaccurate.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that releases meet the established requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Understand regulations pertinent to the software being developed and ensure compliance with said regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA and PCI.

Position Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant design experience, as demonstrated by a design portfolio review.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Copywriting experience is a plus.
  • Relevant small business and HR industry experience is a plus.
