Content Editor

The Content Editor is responsible for writing and editing Zane Benefits content. When editing, this includes overseeing and managing the quality and voice of the content produced by Zane Benefits staff and an independent pool of writers. The Content Editor reports to the Brand Manager.

Candidates are required to have strong editorial and writing skills to establish a consistent and professional message in our customer-facing communications including blog posts, site pages, eBooks, etc. Candidates must be detail-oriented, self-sufficient and have experience writing and editing high-quality online marketing content. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Champion the company’s mission, vision and values
  • Assist the Brand Manager in enforcing the company’s Brand Identity
  • Work with partners, customers and internal teams to develop branded marketing content including: eBooks, press releases, blog posts, web pages, emails and collateral
  • Manage a small team of writers
  • Act as a brand champion both internally and externally
  • Make data-driven recommendations for new content
  • Edit content and provide well-constructed feedback
  • Develop and implement new content initiatives in order to make the content process more fluid and cohesive
  • Ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years marketing and content creation experience (including editing)
  • 1-3 years managing a small team of writers
  • Experience writing and managing online marketing content
  • Experience and understanding of SEO best practices and how it relates to content generation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in major business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Google Analytics a plus
  • Experience delivering content via Content Management System (CMS) tools (ex: HubSpot) a plus
  • Small business, healthcare and/or employee benefits industry knowledge a plus
